    How to: Basketball Shot Jump

    1. Begin seated on the stability ball with your feet flat on the ground.
    2. From this position, engage your core and push off the ground with your feet to jump upward.
    3. Swing your arms for momentum and aim to extend your legs as you jump.
    4. Land softly back onto the ball and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

    Common Mistakes

    • Rounding the back instead of maintaining a neutral spine.
    • Overextending the knees during the jump.
    • Not landing softly, which can lead to injury.

    Modifications

    • Perform without the stability ball for balance.
    • Use a lower platform to reduce jumping height.

    Tips

    • Maintain a stable posture on the stability ball.
    • Focus on using your legs to generate force.
    • Engage your core throughout the movement.
