    How to: Cable Pulldown

    1. Sit down at the cable machine and adjust the knee pad so that it fits snugly against your thighs.
    2. Grab the bar with a grip slightly wider than shoulder-width.
    3. Pull the bar down towards your upper chest while keeping your elbows tucked in.
    4. Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the bottom of the movement.
    5. Slowly raise the bar back to the starting position and repeat.

    Common Mistakes

    • Leaning too far backward while pulling.
    • Letting the weights drop too quickly instead of controlling the movement.
    • Not engaging the core, leading to poor form.

    Modifications

    • Use lighter weights for beginners.
    • Perform the exercise seated or standing based on comfort.

    Tips

    • Maintain a straight back during the exercise.
    • Focus on pulling through your elbows rather than your hands.
    • Control the weight both while pulling down and releasing.
