How to: Cable Ipsilateral Glute Dominant Step-up
Attach a cable to your ankle at the pulley station.
Stand in front of a step with the foot on the same side as the working leg on the step.
Push through the heel of the foot on the step while extending your hip and knee to stand up.
Lower yourself back down to the starting position in a controlled manner.
Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Common Mistakes
Not fully extending the hip at the top of the movement.
Using the cable for momentum, resulting in poor form.
Allowing the knee to extend past the toes during the step-up.
Modifications
Use a lower step to decrease the intensity.
Perform the exercise without added cable resistance.
