How to: Leg Up Hamstring Stretch
Lie on your back with one leg extended towards the ceiling.
Keep the other leg flat on the ground.
Using your hands, gently pull the extended leg towards you while keeping the knee straight.
Hold this position and breathe deeply.
Common Mistakes
Overstretching which can lead to injury.
Not keeping the lower back flat against the ground.
Modifications
Perform the stretch lying down if standing is difficult.
Bend your knee slightly if you feel any strain.
Tips
Keep your hips squared to the ground.
Avoid bouncing while stretching; hold the stretch for 15-30 seconds.
