    How to: Battling Ropes Seated

    1. Sit down on a sturdy bench or the floor with your legs stretched out in front or bent at the knees.
    2. Grip one end of the battling rope in each hand.
    3. Using your shoulders and arms, create waves in the rope by rapidly moving your arms up and down.
    4. Keep your movements controlled and engage your entire core throughout the exercise.
    5. Repeat for the desired time or number of repetitions.

    Common Mistakes

    • Not maintaining core engagement.
    • Using excessive upper body motion instead of focusing on wave movement.
    • Allowing the ropes to go slack between waves.

    Modifications

    • Use lighter ropes to reduce resistance.
    • Perform the exercise seated on a stability ball for added support.

    Tips

    • Engage your core for stability while performing the exercise.
    • Maintain a steady rhythm with your waves to maximize effectiveness.
    • Keep your elbows slightly bent to reduce strain.
