How to: Cable Lying Face Pull
Set the cable pulley at face height with a rope attachment.
Lie down on your back, gripping the rope with both hands.
Pull the rope towards your face, separating your hands as you pull.
Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the peak of the movement.
Slowly return to the starting position.
Common Mistakes
Pulling too much with the arms instead of using the shoulder muscles.
Rotating the shoulders forward instead of keeping them retracting.
Not controlling the resistance on the return.
Modifications
Use a lighter weight to reduce strain.
Perform the exercise seated for better stability.
Tips
Keep your shoulders down and away from your ears during the pull.
Engage your core to maintain stability.
