    How to: Puppy Pose

    1. Begin in a table-top position on your hands and knees.
    2. Slowly walk your hands forward while lowering your chest towards the floor.
    3. Keep your hips over your knees and your arms extended in front of you.
    4. Hold the position, allowing your chest and head to relax down.

    Common Mistakes

    • Letting the shoulders creep up towards the ears.
    • Bending the elbows instead of keeping them straight.
    • Forgetting to breathe deeply, which can affect relaxation.

    Modifications

    • Use a prop under your chest for support if flexibility is limited.
    • Limit the range of motion if you experience discomfort.

    Tips

    • Keep your arms straight and avoid sinking your chest.
    • Focus on breathing deeply to relax further into the stretch.
    • Maintain a flat back as you lower your head towards the floor.
