    How to: Spell Caster

    1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in one hand.
    2. Bend sideways at the waist toward the side holding the dumbbell, keeping your body straight.
    3. Lower the dumbbell as far as is comfortable, then return to the standing position.
    4. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch sides.

    Common Mistakes

    • Using momentum instead of controlled movement.
    • Not fully engaging the obliques.
    • Rounding the back instead of keeping it straight.

    Modifications

    • Use a lighter dumbbell or perform the exercise without weight to start.
    • Perform seated versions to reduce strain on the lower back.

    Tips

    • Keep your core engaged throughout the movement.
    • Maintain a neutral spine and avoid twisting your back excessively.
    • Use a weight that allows you to maintain proper form.
