How to: Cable Overhead Tricep Extension Straight Bar
Attach the straight bar to the high pulley of a cable machine.
Stand facing away from the machine and grasp the bar with both hands.
Extend the bar overhead, keeping your elbows close to your head.
Lower the bar behind your head by bending your elbows.
Push the bar back up to the starting position, extending your arms fully.
Common Mistakes
Using too much weight, which can compromise form.
Flaring elbows out to the sides instead of keeping them close to the head.
Not fully extending the arms at the top of the movement.
Modifications
Perform with a lighter weight if you are new to this exercise.
Use the rope attachment for a different grip variation.
Tips
