    How to: Skips

    1. Stand upright with your feet shoulder-width apart.
    2. Lift your right knee up toward your chest as you push off your left foot.
    3. Switch your feet, allowing your left knee to come up while your right foot lands.
    4. Continue alternating knees in a rhythmic skipping motion.
    5. Keep a steady pace, and use your arms to help with balance.

    Common Mistakes

    • Leaning too far forward or backward while skipping.
    • Not lifting knees high enough.
    • Tensing shoulders instead of keeping them relaxed.

    Modifications

    • Perform the skips at a slower pace or without jumping for less impact.
    • Skip in place rather than forward to reduce the intensity.

    Tips

    • Keep your knees high during the skip for better engagement.
    • Maintain an upright posture while skipping.
    • Use your arms to help drive the movement for balance.
