    How to: Cat Stretch

    1. Begin on all fours with your hands under your shoulders and knees under your hips.
    2. Inhale and arch your back, allowing your belly to sink toward the floor (cow pose).
    3. Exhale and round your back, tucking your chin to your chest (cat pose).
    4. Repeat for several breaths, gently flowing between the two positions.

    Common Mistakes

    • Not fully arching the back
    • Holding the stretch too briefly

    Modifications

    • Perform in a seated position if kneeling is uncomfortable.
    • Support your weight with your hands on your thighs.

    Tips

    • Breathe deeply during the stretch.
    • Focus on the movement of your spine.
