    How to: Cow Yoga Pose Bitilasana

    1. Begin on all fours with your wrists directly under your shoulders and your knees under your hips.
    2. Inhale as you drop your belly towards the mat, lift your head and tailbone upwards towards the ceiling.
    3. Hold the pose for a few breaths, feeling the stretch in your core and back.
    4. Exhale as you round your back, tucking your chin to your chest and pulling your belly button in towards your spine.

    Common Mistakes

    • Bending the neck excessively.
    • Not engaging the core.
    • Letting the shoulders creep up towards the ears.

    Modifications

    • Perform with a yoga block under your hands for more support.
    • Modify the depth of the stretch according to your flexibility.
